A history of stand-up comedy

But the modern stand-up, as we know it today has its beginning in 1950 and 60s folk music in small clubs in New York and SanFrancisco. Comedians like George Carlin, Steve Martin, Bill Cosby and Richard Pryor were the icons of American comedy. Saturday Night Live, plays one of the longest in history, the first time in 1975. Since then, he is responsible for launching the careers of many comedians.
